November 2024 —Specialist manufacturer of low voltage power management solutions, Socomec, has announced the launch of its latest product development - the DELPHYS XM.

Designed to meet the demands of modern Data Centres and other critical infrastructures, DELPHYS XM features industry-leading power density, energy efficiency and a modular architecture. This Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) is available from 300 to 800kVA/kW and has been engineered with advanced technology to reduce the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) while ensuring maximum power availability.

More power, less space; industry-leading power density that’s uniquely optimised

According to Goldman Sachs Research, Data Centre power demand is projected to record an increase of 160% by 2030. With critical application expansion driven by digital transformation, cloud adoption and the rise of AI and IoT technologies, power constraints are becoming an increasingly complex challenge.

DELPHYS XM addresses this demand head-on, delivering 1MW in just 1m² – reducing the footprint by 50% compared to the average UPS, thereby maximising operational space.

Its energy-efficient design achieves up to 99% efficiency in Smart Conversion mode and 97.1% in online double conversion mode, significantly lowering operational costs and energy consumption while reducing cooling requirements and CO₂emissions.

DELPHYS XM represents a significant leap forward in power management technology. It addresses two major challenges – the demand for more power and the pressure on space, especially in Data Centres” said Valentino Formentin, Product Creation Leader at Socomec. He further added, “With its compact design, energy-saving capabilities, and robust performance, it’s designed to meet the evolving needs of modern Data Centres and critical infrastructure.”

Serviceability and resiliency

Its intuitive 10-inch HMI touchscreen simplifies monitoring, while LED indicators provide clear system status at a glance. With real-time remote troubleshooting, immediate fault analysis and actionable alerts, operators can swiftly address issues, minimising disruptions. Paired with Socomec’s expert service packages, which include tailored response times and 24/7 support, DELPHYS XM ensures resilience and reliability for the most critical applications.

DELPHYS XM features a modular design with hot-swappable 100 kW power modules ensuring maximum uptime.

Formentin comments; “DELPHYS XM creates a perfect synergy and has the ability to maximise overall performance and generate wider benefits, guaranteeing uptime and superior resiliency; we know that this synergy will deliver tangible value to our customers, positioning them to deliver their best possible performance, even in the most demanding settings. The DELPHYS XM makes it easier to achieve elite-level efficiencies than ever before.”
